For Christmas:
A TV which is 3D capable, LED backlighted, full HD, 47 inch to 55 inch and a HDMI port, which is pretty much a standard, for my PS3; that acts as a 3D blu ray player and a great, better than the xbox, games console. I haven't decided which one, yet.
http://www.simplyelectricals.co.uk/media/catalog/product/c/7/c7000.jpg
And an Apple TV, for all the Airplay goodness, via my iPod Touch.
http://www.shoppingblog.com/pics/apple_tv_2010_2.jpg
For my Birthday (things that I wanted for christmas, but waiting for the next generation.)
iPad 2; hopefully, with a gyro, front and rear facing cameras, a "better display" - not retina, 512mb of RAM, 128gb of SSD goodness and a faster processor.
http://touchreviews.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/ipad-2-update.jpg
27 inch iMac.

I have been saving up, for years. Christmas 2010 - my birthday, is the "spend it all six months," for me.
Oh, and I want to meet the REAL Santa.

Not sure what n "MBA" is  - But I don't have a dedicated server, just my normal home PC that I have iTunes on that I already sync my iPhone to. I put it in SLEEP mode - it consumes almost no power unless it's gets "woken up" by the streaming app, after which it puts itself back to sleep. I never have an issue. It doesn't run 24 hours a day - only when I stream or am actually using it.
Tony
MacBook Air=MBA
A lot of people nowadays only have laptops. I could understand if you have a desktop that you want to come on all the time or is on 24/7.

Either way, this is a pointless argument/analysis as its impossible to tell without being able to physically put a few iPhones from different batches together to get a real physical comparison.
Here's another way to slice it (literally). Flipped half the image. Left the guidelines on this one as well.

I agree that this is no substitute for measuring the actual phone, but, at least in that photo, they are identical. Certainly not off by 1mm as the original post states.

The word "same" never occurs in the text, which never contemplates multiple installs.
It says you can't use it in a virtual machine. End of story. End of discussion.
Vista Business and Ultimate include additional licenses to also run the same licensed copy of Vista running natively on the licensed device in a virtualization environment as well.
In other words, if you purchase or build a PC with Windows Vista Ultimate, you can use that same installation and license to install it in a virtualization environment on that same platform. That goes beyond what has been done on any other platform for virtualization, and why the limitation is specifically delineated on Vista Home:
You may not use the software installed[1] on the licensed device[2] within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.
[1] This means "the software" (i.e., Vista Home Basic or Premium) is already installed on a licensed device.
[2] The "licensed device" is the device that Vista Home is already installed on, and that license may not be reused to also install it in a virtualization environment, which you CAN do with Vista Business and Ultimate, because Microsoft includes additional licenses specifically for virtualization use, which is why there are all these specifics about virtualization use on the lower end Vista versions in the EULA in the first place.
The Vista Business/Ultimate EULA on the same topic states:
6. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may use the software installed on the
licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system on the licensed device. If
you do so, you may not play or access content or use applications protected by any Microsoft digital,
information or enterprise rights management technology or other Microsoft rights management
services or use BitLocker. We advise against playing or accessing content or using applications
protected by other digital, information or enterprise rights management technology or other rights
management services or using full volume disk drive encryption.
This is because Vista Business and Ultimate include additional licenses so that you can use the same copy, legally ALSO within a virtualization environment on that same system. This is more than is possible with any other commercial OS, from a licensing perspective. The restrictions on Vista Home are ONLY restricting you from using it in a VM on the device where it's already installed. If you buy Vista Home standalone as a retail box, and it's not installed anywhere else, you are free, legally and technically, to use it in a VM to your heart's content.

I've reinstalled OS X twice in the last 9 months. The latest being about 3 weeks ago when I upgraded to a 160GB hard drive. There is nothing wrong with my computer. (OK there is something wrong with its sleeping mech but that has nothing to do with performance.)
Parallels just sucks. Also Im willing to bet the more you use the disk image and Windows the more parallels slows down. Ive got a 14GB disk image, a ton of apps loaded, along with being in it every day for 8+ hours, USB peripherals all over the place, network settings for home and work, firewall enabled along with antivirus software. (I cant use Office 2003 with SAP in OS X.) I probably use it more extensively then most Mac users. The simple fact is the reason why I keep reinstalling the demo instead of outright buying it is because Im waiting on VMWares solution. VMWare is THE industrys Microsoft when it comes to virtualizing. Just without the whole evilness thing. Ive used Parallels extensively. Im not impressed.
So let me get this straight: You keep reinstalling the demo of Parallels, thereby ripping off the company and not supporting it to make it the best product it can be and keep the company in business, and then you have the gall to come out in public and say as such, and then on top of that you have the even greater gall to say it sucks?
Oh yeah, your opinions mean a lot to us now, that's for sure.
Not.
I'll reiterate: something is wrong with your computer, and now I can see why.

right now its reformatting into a RAID, boss wanted to RAID it. lost 2 frames no biggie. here's what i got before that
[22:05:44] pleted 2500 out of 250000 steps (1%)
[22:54:37] Completed 5000 out of 250000 steps (2%)
so thats about 50 mins per frame. i was thinking maybe that was due to the clock speed being 2.26 or the HT. the old 3ghz MP does a frame in the low to mid 40s
wont get to test until tomorrow

Has anybody thought these might all just be preventative filings?
Apple is smart to file a patent on something that might be "similar" to technology they have developed just to maintain their exclusivity of the technology.
Apple might be filing this just so they can say, haha, Microsoft, you can't produce this because we invented it first....and then Apple moves on to the next big thing without ever producing a product based on the patent.
As far as the trademark stuff goes, it is the same logic. Apple needs to protect as many derivations of the "*Pod" mark in order to make their Pod trademarks even stronger. Apple will probably never produce something with the "doPod" trademark, but any other company thinking about naming their product the "doPod" will think twice before getting into a legal battle with Apple, who has one of the most recognized digital entertainment trademarks in the world.
You can show me Patent and Trademark filings all day long and I will simply reply with a "prove it"

Interesting view but?
Suing your supplier is tricky but,
Suing your largest customer is STUPID. Apple can likely find other sources but customers the size of Apple?
Never happen. They have a death wish.
How is 4% of their revenue a death wish for a company that is about twice the size of Apple as far as revenue goes and has a foothold in many industries outside of Apple's circle ?
No, these are clear negotiation tactics on the part of corporations. Apple doesn't care that Samsung is suing them and will continue to source part from them and Samsung doesn't give a hoot that Apple is suing them, they will continue to sell them parts.
